چکیده

Introduction Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is evolving as an effective non-invasive imaging technique for examining patients with suspected pancreatic or biliary disease. The two dimensional (2D) half-Fourier RARE sequence is one of optimal pulse sequences for the standard MRCP (1). However the 2D halfFourier RARE sequence have several limitations such as lower spatial resolution in the slice-selection direction. Three dimension (3D) volume acquisition technique allows generation of multiplanar thin slices without interslice gap. 3D half-Fourier RARE sequence may have potential advantages relating to signal to noise ratio and visualizing fine ducts over 2D method. In this study, we evaluate the 31) half-Fourier RARE-MRCP sequence in comparison with single thick slice and multiple slice 2D half-Fourier RARE-MRCP.

Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography: Comparison of two- and three-dimensional sequences for the assessment of pancreatic cystic lesions

The present study aimed to compare two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) for the assessment of pancreatic cystic lesions. Between February 2009 and December 2011, 35 patients that had been diagnosed with pancreatic cystic lesions, which was confirmed by surgery and pathology, underwent pre-operative 2D or 3D MRCP for pre-operative eva...

Three-Dimensional Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography for the Diagnosis of Biliary Atresia in Infants and Neonates

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is widely accepted for visualization of the biliary system. However, the sensitivity and specificity of MRCP for the diagnosis of biliary atresia (BA) are still not fully elucidated. This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic value of three-dimensional MRCP (3D-MRCP) for BA in a large cohort of cholestatic infants a...

Feasibility of 3D navigator-triggered magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography with combined parallel imaging and compressed sensing reconstruction at 3T.

PURPOSE To assess the feasibility of 3D navigator-triggered magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) with combined parallel imaging (PI) and compressed sensing (CS). MATERIALS AND METHODS With Institutional Review Board approval, 30 consecutive patients who underwent MRCP for suspected pancreaticobiliary disease were prospectively recruited. All patients underwent 3D navigator-trigg...

Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography: value of using the half-Fourier acquisition single-shot turbo spin-echo (HASTE) sequence.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) for visualisation and diagnosis of pancreatico-biliary diseases. Our results of 35 case studies, correlating with results from endoscopic, percutaneous cholangiopancreatography or laparotomy, showed that MRCP performed using the half-Fourier acquisition single-shot turbo spin echo (HASTE...

3D-MRCP for evaluation of intra- and extrahepatic bile ducts: comparison of different acquisition and reconstruction planes

BACKGROUND Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is an established technique for the evaluation of intra- and extrahepatic bile ducts in patients with known or suspected hepatobiliary disease. However, the ideal acquisition and reconstruction plane for optimal bile duct evaluation with 3D technique has not been evaluated. The purpose of our study was to compare different acquisitio...
